Forgiveness Proceeds Healing

Mark Weaver   -

He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends. Proverbs 17:9

“When a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive.” Alan Paton

In preparing for a series of devotionals to help people heal the main theme that arises is forgiveness. Forgiveness is an easy concept to understand when you need to receive it. Yet, it is difficult to transact when you need to give it.

Both the receiving and the giving of forgiveness come from the same Source. Abba Father

So, whether you have been hurt and wounded or have done unto others the same, forgiveness proceeds healing. It leads the parade of celebrating the fullness of life that God has designed for you and others.

Ask the Holy Spirit to bring light on your life to expose these areas of unforgiveness:

Where you haven’t accepted forgiveness for your commissions or omission of sins.

Where you haven’t given forgiveness for others’ commissions or omission of sins.

Lord, reveal the places we are still in the bondage of unforgiveness. Bring to light your mercy we have in Your cross. Let us see the grace we have in Your resurrection and new life within us. Amen
