Huddle / Common Chaos: Part 4

Onelifechurch   -

Huddle time is an opportunity for you to connect to each other and grow in faith. The below questions are just a resource for you to use or start from. Don’t feel like you have to use them all or rush through good discussion.

Addictions:

Have you ever been surprised by someone’s addiction?

The word in the Bible equivalent to “addictions” is “slavery.” How is slavery equivalent to what you know about addictions?

Bret talked about the first step to healing from addictions is to be honest.  Tell the truth. Confess your sins.

In light of this, please read:  1 John 1:9; James 5:16

What addiction are you willing to admit to?

Leaders – here are some questions to determine addiction:

Do you have short term pleasure that leads to long term pain?

Is there something in your life that disrupts your life?

You plan to do something differently (such as not drink every night)  and yet you can’t?

Read: Romans 3:9-12

Most of us  probably have an addiction of some sort or level, (something that has power over us that we don’t have the power to control ourselves.)

Why do you think we rank addictions from “acceptable addictions”  to “non-acceptable?” Is any addiction acceptable?

At One Life, we care about your life and what you are going through.  Please see the following resource for help with addictions:

How can your Group Leaders be praying for you and the addictions you struggle with?

PRAYER: This new series is really diving into the common struggles in ALL of our lives: Relationships, Addictions and Stress. Pray for those in our city and those in your life who are affected by these three topics and opportunities to invite them.

EASY DISCIPLESHIP QUESTIONS

These are great questions and can be used one at a time, or one from each section even if time is short. Most importantly if used consistently, then people will be conscious of starting to develop the habits and lifestyle of becoming a disciple.
