The video describes 2 tabernacles in scripture. (Read Exodus 26-35 & 1 Kings 6 & 2 Chronicles 8 for more study on the tabernacle & temple)
The temples were decorated with fruit trees, flowers, angels, gold… and were designed to make you think you feel like you were going back to the garden. This is the first time I realized they are to point you back to creation. What are your thoughts on that? The tabernacle was pointing back to the original Eden.
The video mentions a place called the Holy of Holies that you could only enter with animal sacrifice. Why do you think God used that to absorb the sin?
John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
The word dwelling translates as tabernacle. Jesus is the temple. Jesus literally is the place where Heaven and Earth overlap. He is creating little pockets of heaven in the middle of the world.
Jesus told his followers to pray:
Matthew 6:9-10
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come, your will be done,    on earth as it is in heaven.”
John 1:29 “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
Jesus is talked about as not just being the temple but being the temple sacrifice. Is this a new understanding for you? Have you heard about Jesus being the lamb of God?
The cross is the place where Jesus absorbs sin to create a clean space that is not limited like animal sacrifice.
One big question: What happens when I die?
The video points out that the focus of the Bible is not going to heaven when you die. Is this liberating? The focus is on how Heaven and Earth are being united through Jesus and will be completely brought together one day.
Revelation 22:1-5
“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.”
Here we see in Revelation the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city where we will dwell. Heaven on Earth.
