Because 50 Day 6

Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:6-7
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, I will not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I’ll  make my requests known to You. And You God have promised to give me peace that passes  all understanding and keep my heart and my mind safe in Christ Jesus.
Going Deeper:
Mark modeled an important principle for us in today’s video. We should infuse our prayers with Scripture. Did you know that there are several benefits to praying the Scriptures in our lives?
One of the benefits of praying Scripture is that you learn Scripture. Soon you will find yourself quoting Scripture that you didn’t even know that you necessarily knew. Scripture will start to flow out in your life. In Psalms 1, we’re told that we’re blessed when we delight “in the law of the Lord and in His law [we] meditate day and night.”
Another benefit to praying Scripture is that we learn what God has to say about certain situations and circumstances. I remember receiving a Bible as a high school graduation present from my parents. In the back of the Bible, there was a page that included verses to look at in various struggles. As I struggled through stressful times my freshman year of college, I found myself going to God’s Word and hearing Him speak into my life. The Bible is filled with wisdom, but we have to read it to know that wisdom. Has there been a time in your life where it felt like the Bible was speaking directly into your situation? How did you respond?
Take time today to pray the prayer above. It’s a great reminder when we face anxiety-producing moments.
