Because 50 Day 22
Scripture Reading: Acts 1:3-9
3After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
6Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
7He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
9After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to not just learn something, but to act on it.

Commit to daily Bible study with One Life and the Bible Project. The single best way to grow closer to Jesus is to daily reflect on Scripture. Through the 50 days of this series, you are cultivating a habit of study. We want to challenge you to take it deeper coming out of the series.
Earn an Apologetics Certificate from Biola University. We believe that people can bring their brain to church. Biola University is one of the leading academic institutions when it comes to the field of apologetics, defending the Christian faith. We’ve negotiated a special price for One Lifers that want to up their understanding of how to defend their faith.
Join the One Life Online Campus Team. Coming out of Because50, we will be launching our fifth site, our Online Campus. We began working on this new way to reach people last December and our now ready to launch it publicly. We want individuals who are willing to serve as Host Team members or Prayer Team members to join our teams. The more volunteers we have to serve online, the more experiences we can offer each week.
Launch a microsite. Microsites are gatherings of individuals that are intentionally and missionally reaching a group of people. You may want to launch a microsite in your geographic community or perhaps God has given you a heart for a group of people in a particular situation. We are developing a system that will allow you to take the Sunday morning experience to people where they are.
Discover how your job is a mission through Agora. God has placed you in an unique space in the marketplace. Growing in faith and growing in business do not have to be two separate things. Agora will transform you as a leader, a business person, and most importantly, as a follower of Christ.
Join a One Life group or team. We do life in groups and teams. We want every single One Lifer to be a part of a group or team that is helping people trust and follow Jesus.
Lead a One Life group or team. Some of you are mature in your faith and have developed the skills necessary to lead but have chosen not to. We want to challenge you to step out and use the leadership gifts and skills you’ve been given by leading a group or team.
Sponsor and pray for a child in Myanmar or Afghanistan. We pray big, audacious prayers at One Life. One of those prayers is that God would use to change the worldview of the next generation. You can play a part in doing that by sponsoring a child through Uncharted International. Your support and prayers help feed for the children, provide for their schooling and demonstrate the love of God in tangible ways to them.
Sign up for a mission trip to Myanmar or Afghanistan. Many of us have been stuck at times in spiritual ruts. We seem to just being going through the motions with our faith. Mission trip experiences will break you out of those ruts, open your eyes to how God is at work throughout the world and transform your faith. We’ll be challenging you to sign up for an upcoming trip through Uncharted International.
