Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:16b-18
And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.17But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
Questions for Reflection:
What would allow Paul to boast that I he “did not run or labor in vain”? (Hint: you might need to go back to yesterday’s reading or the verses just before to get the context.) Their legacy of faithfully sharing in the gospel led to joy in Paul’s life. Paul had intentionally discipled (helped them follow Jesus) the Philippians and their faithfulness led to joy and gladness in his life. Whose faith are you investing in? Who is investing in you? You should have someone in your life who is a bit further down the journey who is developing you. Do you have that person? In the same time, you should find someone who is a little behind you that you are pouring into. Who is that person? Pray today for those people. If you have not identified them yet, pray and ask God to help you identify those people.
