Meet Amber Boyle: OLK Worship Leader

Rebecca Rohrscheib   -

I’d like to introduce you to Amber Boyle. She’s one of our worship leaders for One Life KIDS at our East Campus. Here’s her story on why she says YES to the next generation.
I’m Amber Boyle. My husband and I have been Onelifers for 4 years. After we had been attending OneLife for a little while we decided we wanted to serve on a team. We got connected and started serving on the kids check-in team in Henderson. When East opened we continued serving on the check-in team there. After a few months at East my friend Mistie Doyle told me I should totally be a worship leader. When she said that I immediately thought, “are you crazy?” I wasn’t brave enough, good enough, or Godly enough to be a kids worship leader. A few weeks after that I was approached to start practicing to lead a kids worship team. I have now been a worship leader for seven months and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. When I’ve had a crazy stressful day at work and I come to practice on Tuesday nights all that seems to disappear. My spirit is lifted because of the kids I get to serve with. They are the light and they bring so much joy to my life. When I hear their prayers it makes my heart so full. On Sundays when I’m leading worship and I see all the kids worshiping Jesus with everything they have, I am reminded of how good God is.
I have to be completely honest, if someone wouldn’t have taken the time to ask me to be a worship leader I never would have thought twice about it. I’m so thankful someone took a chance to ask me and I’m so thankful I was pushed out of my comfort zone. Serving as a worship leader has not only brought me closer in my walk with God, but it has revealed to me my “made for this”. I love seeing the worshipers and investing in the next generation because they are awesome! If you have ever thought about serving in kids or you’re thinking about it now, but you think you don’t have enough time, or you’re not good enough, I want to challenge you to observe or just go for it and sign up to serve. I promise you, you won’t regret it. Serving in Kids has changed my life and I know it will yours too if you’ll just take the first step.
