Helping Kids Own Their Faith

One Life Student DNA
You may know all there is about One Life DNA, vision and goals, but what are we trying to accomplish in One Life Students? Everything we do is designed to help students own their faith. We want Middle and High School students to engage a faith that is vibrant. We’ll know we’ve succeeded when these students are still embracing mature faith in their 20’s and 30’s. How do we plan to do this?
It’s as easy as 1,2,3
1. Enlist every student into a Student life group. In life group students will discover adults who love them and want to share life’s journey with them. They also find friends who struggle with the same life issues.
2. Teach every student what it means to be a servant. This generation of kids believes more in a faith that acts than a faith that reflects. To them a faith that is without action is worthless. As adults who love students we have a high priority to get kids involved with service inside the church and a mission outside the church.
3. Get kids involved with caring adults. The more relationships students have with adults who are mature in their faith the greater the chance they will carry their own faith into their young adult years. We want to make sure every student has a connection with 4-5 One Life Leaders or team members.
These are our building blocks
You will be hearing more in the next few weeks and months about how you can influence the lives of the next generation, but you don’t have to wait. You already know enough now to start making a difference. Enlist students to serve on your team. Volunteer to be a leader, host a group or just be friends with a student. It’s really not that hard.
