5 MyHeart4Myanmar Highlights

One Life Students launched the MyHeart4Myanmar campaign this past weekend, as they were challenged to step into a bigger story in 2012 to raise $65,000 to build a new orphanage for children in Myanmar.  Here are 5 highlights the team experienced this past weekend.
 1.  The presence of the Holy Spirit– Although, we have only the most exceptional leaders serving on our team, what we experienced Saturday night was something so much more than we could give ourselves credit for.  Reflections leads us to asking, “How in the world did we pull this off?”  We didn’t.  HE did.
2. The body of Christ at its finest– Our student leadership team consist of single moms, single dads, high school students, financial planners, accountants, pharmacy techs, and an assortment of other occupations and roles.  Over the last few months we saw our team sacrifice their time and throw into the movement for the next generation like I’ve never seen before.
 3. The Power of Prayer– Students ended the night in a room of solitude where they were given the opportunity to pray for themselves, their peers, their family, and the nations.  One of our middle school friends decided to become a follower of Jesus.  We saw countless others literally on their faces before their father and truly claimed to have encountered him in a powerful way.  A way that has changed their life.

4. A commitment to the next generation– It was not just our student leaders who poured an excess amount of time into this evening.  Students would not have encountered the same experience if it weren’t for individuals like Paul Rundus, Joey Davenport, Megan and Jason Williams, Jeff Seymore, Ryan Nunn, Damon Hancock, Brian Notess and countless other individuals who desire to see the next generation rise up and lead us to the heart of God.
5. Leaders worshiping with Students– Worshiping God is an intimate experience in and of itself.  To have the opportunity to worship God in a packed room with the people whom you believe in and love the most is a rarity, but one that we were overjoyed to experience both Saturday and Sunday.
Although Saturday evening was a once in a lifetime event, the great news is that this movement is just getting started. We hope you will step into the story that God has planned for you this year both locally and globally.
You have one and only life.  Will you make yours matter?
