Dan Sullivan   -

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful; 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Many times when we consider that Bible verse we apply it to the things that we do-like work, a project, parenting, whatever. Take it away from its context and it is a great charge, a great motivator, a great poster or greeting card! And that’s fine, but that’s not the context that Paul originally meant it.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.

Wow! Christ’s peace can rule in our hearts, we are one body, and we are called to peace.
If I’m ruled by peace and know that I’m a part of the same body that you are, and that body is Christ, then whatever I do, whether in talking or doing, I want to do to the glory of the one of which I am a part. That is Christ, and that is you.
As Christ rules in me, it becomes my desire to make Him look good. As I realize that Christ dwells in you, if I make you look good, or do something to build up your faith and glory in Christ, then Christ looks good.
Imagine this happening today as you work alongside a co-worker, or veg with your friends, or fill time with your kids at home all – summer – long. Christ in them wants to have perfect fellowship with Christ in you, and all to the glory of the Father.
Therefore, whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Try it. It’s a real thing and God loves to show up in it. When it happens the way it is supposed to, it brings for the next thing naturally

giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
