Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:12-13
12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Questions for Reflection:
What does Paul mean by the phrase “work out your salvation with fear and trembling”? What type of fear should you have of God? The Greek word translated fear is also used to give the idea of respect or reverance. How does that understanding help inform the attitude we should have toward God?
According to verse 13, who is at work in you? How does it help to know that it is God at work in you? What is he accomplishing in and through you? In what way(s), have you seen God working in and through you to fulfill his purpose? Spend time today praying asking God how He wants to work through you.
