Because 50 Day 34

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-4
1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, use us as a local church to reach people together.
Going Deeper:
The picture of the early church that is painted in Acts is beautiful. The temptation in church culture in 21st century America is to leave ministry to the “professionals.” From the beginning though, the church was designed to be a people on mission together. What evidence do you see of this principle in the passage above?
In the video above, Bret referenced how we can drift away from inviting people to church. Why do you think that is? Have you recently invited someone? If you have, how did that go? What can you learn from it? If you haven’t, why not?
Last year Relevant Magazine wrote an article on the real reasons we don’t invite our friends to church. Read the article here. Do you see the reason you don’t invite more often on there? How would you respond to those reasons? How can you be more intentional today in reaching people together with others? How can you adjust your actions, motivations, presentation or communication to reach others?
