Prayer for InsightO Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us, through Jesus Christ, Amen.
Daily Bible Reading (Psalm 49:16-19)16Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; 17for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them. 18Though while they live they count themselves blessed—and people praise you when you prosper—19they will join those who have gone before them, who will never again see the light of life.
Question for ReflectionIn the board game of Life, the person with the most stuff at the end of the game wins. Real life isn’t like that, because death is the ultimate equalizer. The richest person in the world will take no more with him to the other side than the poorest. No matter how much you have, you can’t take it with you. How does this truth make you feel? What are the implications of it for how you live your life?
Today’s “Move” PrayerGod I await the day when generosity peaks & I inherit your kingdom. Until then continue to remind me of my identity.
