Daily Bible Reading (Matthew 6:19-21)19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Questions for ReflectionAccording to Jesus, there’s an interesting cause and effect relationship between money and our heart, and it doesn’t work the way we often think it does. We tend to think that our heart determines where our treasure goes, that what we do with our money is a reflection of our heart. But Jesus says it actually works the other way around. Instead of our heart determining where our money goes, our money actually determines where our heart goes. Our heart follows our money. And that is a game changer. Where would you like your heart to be? What do you really want to be important to you? Start giving in that direction and your heart is sure to follow.
