Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:1; Psalm 32:11; Psalm 33:1
Php 3:1: 1Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.‭
Ps 32:11: 11Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
Ps 33:1: 1Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Questions for Reflection:
As Paul transitions to a new idea in the verses that follow, he reminds the Philippians of a command that is central to the letter. What is that command? Paul, as we’ll see in the next few days, had a deep understanding of the Jewish Scriptures. How does Paul’s statement compare with the commands from the Psalms? How can these verses infuse your worship today? Why do you worship? How can you find joy through Christ today?
