12.10.23 Huddle
Hey Huddle leader! Just wanted to let you know of a few changes you will be seeing to the huddle. The top section is designed for those of you who use this as a tool to connect with your team. It should take you about 10-15 minutes to complete. The second part will include the top section, but with more discussion questions and possibly some more verses. The prayer portion will be at the end so if you do the top portion you will have to scroll down to the prayer section. If you have any feedback on how to make the Huddle better please email [email protected].
Opening Discussion
- What are some ways you’ve benefited from those who have gone before you?
Shorter Version
Read and Discuss
Read Exodus 19:3-6 CSB
3 Moses went up the mountain to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain: “This is what you must say to the house of Jacob and explain to the Israelites: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now if you will carefully listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession out of all the peoples, although the whole earth is mine, 6 and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites.”
- Why does the Lord have to keep reminding the Israelites of how He rescued them from the Egyptians?
- Why is it sometimes easy to forget the good things God has done for us?
- In your community of Christ followers, how can you work to remind each other of the good things the Lord has done for you?
Read Exodus 25:1-9 NIV
The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give. 3 These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze; 4 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; 5 ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood; 6 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; 7 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
8 “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.
- Why did God want the offering to be prompted by their heart?
- Why is it hard for some followers of Jesus to give Him control of the financial part of their life?
- What does it look like in your own life to be prompted by the Lord to give?
Discipleship Questions
- What parts of your life do you find difficult to give to God?
- What is one specific area you can take steps towards giving the Lord complete control over?
- What step will you take this week and who can help you with that?

- What is interesting or surprising about the list of things that the Lord is asking for?

- If you never feel prompted to give, what should you do?
- What is one way you could give this week?
- These were the plans for the tabernacle which would be the place of worship for many years for the Israelite nation. How is what you are investing in today going to benefit the next generation of Jesus followers?
