Profitable Pain
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
God entrusts us with pain.
It can be a Holy experience
Or a repelling one.
It can draw us to Him
Or spin us out of control.
It can break all pretenses
Or be used to build a wall.
It can expose His light through the cracks
Or cement us inside ourselves.
It can drive us to beg His Presence
Or keep it to ourselves.
It can break open the alabaster jar
Or cause us to bury it deep instead.
It can awaken hope
Or cause despair.
God uses pain to draw us to Him.

I have learned that pain can be our friend. If we allow it to lead us to the One Who loves us.

In what ways have you allowed pain to give you an excuse to seek comfort and relief in the arms of counterfeit lovers?
Lord, may we never suffer pain without profiting from Your comfort, correction, or healing. May our pain be an agent of change in our lives for Your glory. Amen
