Huddle / Week Of 8-18-19
Huddle time is an opportunity for you to connect to each other and grow in faith. The below questions are just a resource for you to use or start from. Don’t feel like you have to use them all or rush through good discussion.
Preparation for the “Centered” series
Read Daniel 9:4-19
How can you sum up Daniel’s prayer?
(Pivotal Prayer Accepts Responsibility.)
“We’ve been wrong.”
Talk about a time when you had to admit you were wrong. What was the person’s response?
Why do you think we have a tendency to blame others for things that are our fault?
Have you ever gotten an insincere apology? How did it make you feel?
How do you see being “you-tube” or “social media famous” as dangerous? Or Useful? How do you think your life would change if you were social media famous?
The church in culture is known for eternity and morality. But the purpose of the church is to bring the Kingdom of God to the here and now. What would change about our city if we looked at this collectively?
What is the difference between what we are known for and what the intended purpose of the church is?
What does this look like practically?
What does bringing the Kingdom of God to the here and now look like versus the church just being known for eternity and morality?
Tell about a time you talked to someone who was seemingly lonely. How did you make them feel loved or appreciated?
Have you done an act of kindness for someone? How did it make you feel? Did you get a chance to see how the other person responded?
Has your group or team ever thought about doing a group act of Kindness?
Have you thought of making this a regular part of your week?
How is doing this modeling the character of Christ?
How can we as a group or team create a sense of community?
Daniel fast: Sept 30-Oct 20th.
[Oct 20 – December 1 is a new series called “Centered.” Prayerful preparation is highly encouraged.}
