God Calls it As He Sees It

Dan Sullivan   -

This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Sosthenes. I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Look at the way Paul addresses these folks. If you could look up what these people did on the internet, the FBI would come to your house for what you had seen.

But that doesn’t stop him from blessing them. He doesn’t look at their sin, but at who Christ has reborn them to be. They are being made into a holy priesthood, but they don’t look like that yet on the outside.

If there were any question of their salvation, Paul calls them “God’s church in Corinth.” It’s not that God is only going to use them if they are pure and act right. They are God’s church. They are the best thing God has going in Corinth, and by the grace of Jesus’ death and resurrection, that is what God loved and was using at the time.

Wherever we are today, as a family, as individuals, as couples, or as a church, God loves us a ton and wants to form us. He has made us holy by means of Christ Jesus, and looks forward to our continuous joyful lifestyle in His Spirit, even with our struggles.
