Roll Out in Celebration and Joy
My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.
Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one;
clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice;
let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

We are in our final week of the Psalms and surely some favorites have come up. Some of my favorites are in this final week.
This is a great Psalm to write down in a wedding card or to pray over a newlywed couple. It’s also a great Psalm to pray as you embark on your Monday.
God is always conquering. Sometimes He is conquering a creation that was rebellious against Him and it is falling into order and submission. Sometimes God is conquering a hard heart and softening it by one graceful move after another. God is the only perfect being in the universe that can work every single situation to bring forth good things for the participant and He Himself.
This Psalm paints a picture of someone fully enjoying the grace of God. Rest and savor the goodness, kindness, faithfulness, and care God has shown us in Jesus Christ. He has died for our sins (without us asking Him to!) and given us new life (before we even knew what that was!) and we get to enjoy Him forever.
Erwin McManus said last week at the GLS “If you are a Christian, death is behind you and nothing but life is in front of you!” If you know that, you can ride forth (or walk) victoriously in the cause of truth, humility, and justice.
God has already clothed you with splendor and majesty; you don’t have to worry about gaining that for yourself. Now get out there and achieve some awesome deeds in your house, between you and a friend, or in the whole world.
