25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.” Luke 10:25–28 ESV
A person’s worldview affects the way they answer questions like:

Where did it all come from?
What happens after we die?
What is the measure for good and evil?
Why do good or bad things happen to bad or good people?

We can help uncover people’s beliefs and show what Jesus taught about the world compared to the things they believe. Don’t just get into debates and arguments about convincing people of your beliefs. In a loving way you can help other people ask questions about their own beliefs.
Jesus Himself, in this passage, started out the conversation by letting the lawyer do most of the teaching. It was only after further questions that the guy showed that he really wanted to learn more from Jesus. Was he so open to learn more because Jesus was open to hear from him? Did Jesus help the guy open up to hear more by asking him for his opinion first, without giving a fast answer? Only eternity will tell.
