Care, Questions, and Christ – The Outline We’re Looking Through: RRE 9
Religion Ruins Everything Daily 9 9.19.16
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:10–13 NIV
As we look at Jesus’ conversations, remember the outline we are looking through.
Care
Genuinely care about people, don’t just look at them as a person to win an argument with or a task to complete. How would you want them to look at you?
Questions
You don’t have to do all of the talking. Take a genuine interest in people and what they have to say. You’ll both learn a lot!
Christ
The objective isn’t to get people to think highly of you, or to even get them to church, but to get them to consider and have a high opinion of Jesus.
When it comes to reaching people, have eyes that see the things that Jesus looked at. Everyone is worth our time, prayers, conversations, and friendships.
