Because 50 Day 27
Scripture Reading: Psalm 96:1-3
1Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
Today’s Prayer:
God, give us new eyes to see where you’ve planted us and where you want to send us.
Going Deeper:
We tend to think of worship as the corporate act of singing songs to God on Sunday morning. While that is a part of worship, it is not the extent of how we can or should worship. This psalm tells us that we are to “proclaim his salvation day after day.” What does verse three tell us that we are suppose to be doing?
In the video above, Mark suggests three things that we can do to worship God among the nations. First, Mark suggests that we can give. At One Life, we believe in what God is doing in our word, both locally and globally. Each week when you give to One Life, we give over 10% of all the tithes and offerings given to support what God is doing outside of our walls. One way you can give to support what God is doing is by sponsoring an orphan through Uncharted International. Click here for more information on orphan sponsorship.
Second, Mark suggests that we can go. One of the best ways we can grow closer to Jesus is through self-sacrifice in missions. What I have found is that when I’ve been on mission trips that God has done more in me than I feel like I ever contributed to anyone else. You can sign up for a short-term mission trip through Uncharted International here. If you can’t go for yourself, perhaps you can help send someone else. Talk with your campus pastors or Uncharted about how you can help sponsor an individual on an upcoming trip.
