Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:8-9
8Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Questions for Reflection:
Paul gives insight to the Philippians on how they can improve their attitude and protect their mind. What does Paul instruct the church at Philippians to think on? Is there part of those characteristics that you don’t understand? Why doesn’t Paul just say “Think about the things of God” or “Think about thiings you’ve heard at church”? Is it possible to encounter something that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely admirable, excellent or praiseworthy outside of the church? Can you think of an example that reflects this? How can you use this grid to guide and direct your thoughts? How will letting this grid infuse your worldview help you trust and follow Jesus?
