Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:5-8
“Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.”
Questions for Reflection:
Paul instructs workers or employees (a fair understanding of the word slaves used in verse 5) to conduct themselves in a certain way. How does he command them to relate to their employers? What does it look like to have a healthy fear of your boss? How can you show your boss respect? Paul changes the org chart of your organization. He says that you ultimately do not work for your boss, but rather God. Write verse 7 down somewhere that you will be able to see it at work.
