1. What conversations are we not holding as a Team or not holding well? Share with your Team what conversations in your life you need to have that you are not holding or not holding well?
2. The myth is that you either have to tell the truth, or keep a friend, you can’t do both effectively. However, we see in Ephesians 4:15 that the Church is to speak the truth in love. It was backed up by Grenny’s sociological research. The two key components are: (1) Show them you have the same goals–you understand where they are (2) That you are genuinely for them. How have you seen this played out in real life situations? What happens when it fails?
3. Compassion is telling the truth in love. Doing so is a seemingly difficult proposition. Why do you think this is? What are the barriers that keep you from carrying out a much needed crucial conversation? In your workplace, marriage or friendships, where does everyone know the “brownies stink” but people are reluctant to talk about it? How can you show compassion by helping hold the conversation?
