The Cure: Week 2
Worship, Love, Compassion
1. Paul references God’s great love in Ephesians 2:4-5. What is one time in your life where you experienced God’s great love in a tangible way? What was your response? What did you do about it?
2. Part of “loving one another” is simply getting to know each other. The television show Walking Dead was mentioned this past Sunday. Share what your favorite TV show is, and why, with your team.
3. Pastor Bret laid out two different types of Christian responses to the Gospel: (1) The Mean Moralist and (2) The Flaky Party-On Dude. Which do you tend to gravitate to? When you go too far one way, are you more about following every rule or more about not worrying about rules at all? How does the Gospel help us to live in the center?
Application
Helping One Another Experience Jesus
We learned in Ephesians 1:22 that the church is the representation of Jesus’ body, the fullnesses of Him who fills all in all. Your Mission Team is that!! This should drive you to want to invite people into your team…so others can experience Jesus. Why do you think you don’t regularly invite people onto your team? Who should you?
Helping People Far From God Experience Jesus
Pastor Bret said he was going to talk directly to believers this Sunday because that’s what Paul was doing with his message to the Ephesians. But, he said he wanted to frame it in the sense of “airing some dirty laundry” (see question #3 above). What is the value of this? How can this simple move help people far from God experience Jesus?
