A Message from Students to One Lifers
Since MH4M started 2 years ago, One Life Students have raised $54,700. These funds have gone directly towards the building costs for the girls’ dorm ($27,500) at Zion Orphanage in Myanmar. The remaining funds are going towards the boys’ dorm ($27,200). At this point, we are only $881 away from meeting our goal to build the boys’ dorm. A group of high schoolers from One Life will join the upcoming summer Myanmar mission teams with Uncharted International, and we will be leaving in the next 2 weeks. If we raise the remaining $881 by the time we leave, we will personally be able to attend the ground breaking for this dorm at Zion. To raise the $881 necessary to make this exciting event happen, we will be selling homemade cookies, canvases, tee shirts and such, at each One Life location during the next 2 Sundays. We are so excited to have this opportunity, and we would really appreciate your support!
Breaking ground on this dorm would be especially meaningful for Elle and me because this is our second trip back and meeting the kids at Zion and seeing what our money has already done has made a huge impact on our lives and given us a drive and passion to continue raising money to get the kids what they need.
Every time I think about MH4M I think about the little boy I met over there that I decided to support named Bawi Thiang Bik, he lived at Zion and he was the sweetest little boy on the planet (He even has a lisp!!!) and I love him so so much. Being able to help break ground on a place where I know he will be staying (versus the bamboo huts that he lives in now) would be so amazing to me. -Morgan Nicholson
I’m so excited to have the chance to attend the groundbreaking at Zion, especially since I have met the wonderful leader that runs the orphanage. Papui is the head of Zion, and he is one of the greatest (and coolest!) people I have ever met. He and the kids are so grateful for all of our hard work, and I can’t wait to see them again soon (almost a week!!). -Elle Floyd
I’m positive this experience will be really awesome for our entire OL Student team who is going, both those who have been before, and those who are embarking on this journey for the first time, as we will have the opportunity to see all the hard work we have put in over the last 2 years!
