Prayer for InsightO Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us, through Jesus Christ, Amen.
Daily Bible Reading (Luke 16:10-13)10“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? 13“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Question for ReflectionJesus said some of the most radical things about money management and generosity that have ever been said. As a matter of fact, he had more to say on this topic than just about any other. And it doesn’t get any more radical than this: If you can’t be trusted with worldly wealth, you won’t be trusted with the riches of heaven. We can try to weasel our way around this truth, but the fact is we will either serve money or we will serve God. You can’t have it both ways. Generosity forces us to put our money where our mouths are as followers of Christ. What does your generosity say about your relationship with God? At the end of the day, who are you really serving?
Today’s “Move” PrayerI am committing today God to give you all of my life & yes my finances! Show me how to biblically use what you give.
