Prayer for InsightO Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us, through Jesus Christ, Amen.
Daily Bible Reading (Philippians 3:12-14)12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Question for ReflectionAs committed as Paul obviously was, even he wasn’t there yet. He still had some growing to do. But he didn’t let that hold him back. You probably aren’t where you want to be either. If we’re honest, no one is. But don’t let that stop you. Your past does not determine your future. When it comes to generosity, what would it look like for you to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead?
Today’s “Move” PrayerThank you God not for cleaning my slate, but giving me a new one. Help me know that my ability comes with obedience.
