Open Questions to Those who Don’t Accept Christianity
Why do people stay away from, reject or leave Christian belief?
A new study recently reported that the fastest growing “religion” in the US, especially among twenty-somethings, is: “none”. In increasing numbers, people are simply checking out.
I have a simple question. . . Why?I have my own theories. I’ve read books. I’ve read articles. But, I want to know from anyone who cares to say it on a personal level.
Would you describe yourself as someone who either rejects (Christian) faith or has “walked away” from it? Maybe you have someone close to you who falls into those categories. I’d love to hear from you if they would be comfortable with you articulating their experience. Here’s what I would like to do. I want to invite response to the questions: Why reject? Why stay away? Why walk away?
And, here’s my promise: I may ask questions but I will not argue. You can say whatever you want (provided your language is publishable). I want to know. I want to talk about it. I want to learn.
Make no mistakes: I am passionate that experiencing Jesus is THE way of life. I’m not hiding anything. I want to do whatever I can to help even the most hardened skeptic experience Jesus. But, I am interested in showing the respect and humility of listening first to those who don’t agree.
Fire away.
