Scripture Reading: Acts 20:1-6
1When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the disciples and, after encouraging them, said goodbye and set out for Macedonia. 2He traveled through that area, speaking many words of encouragement to the people, and finally arrived in Greece, 3where he stayed three months. Because some Jews had plotted against him just as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia. 4He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia. 5These men went on ahead and waited for us at Troas. 6But we sailed from Philippi after the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days.
Questions for Reflection:
Yesterday our reading in Ephesians introduced to a new person, Tychicus. His first appearance in Scripture was recorded in Acts 20 (the passage above). What do you learn about his life and ministry from the passage above?  What was Paul doing in Macedonia and Greece? What do you think Tychicus experience was like as he followed Paul around? What do you think he learned and observed?
Much of early discipleship was caught rather than taught. Rather than having a class or a program that the disciple completed, the disciple would spend time living life with their teacher. Through the ongoing, daliy living of life they would learn how to respond to conflict, how to answer questions, how to live life. Has someone invested in your life like this before? What did you learn from that person? How was your life impacted by them? Finally, is there anyone in whom you are intentionally investing and discipling now?
