Praising God for His Unseen Works in Animals, Men, and Women

Dan Sullivan   -

10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; 11  they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. 12  Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. 13  From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. 14  You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth 15  and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart.

Consider for a minute everything that God has kept going to keep and support us. Way up in some mountains there were a bunch of wild cows and buffalo and sheep multiplying and waiting for the population to expand into their territory. Right this minute, somewhere between Texas and Montana, grass is receiving rain so that it will grow and feed a cow that will end up on your dinner table.
God created the earth and everything in it, and it’s mind boggling to realize the majority of creation can’t even be seen. Dig in your garden and you’ll find hundreds of worms that were helping your 15 visible tomatoes grow. When you go on vacation to the beach and see a shark you are surprised and afraid, because you know for a fact that the ocean is full of hundreds of thousands of sharks like that one.
So often we get into a rut of thanking God for what we can see. We wait for something good to praise Him and we despair over something bad. Let’s take today and praise Him for all of the things that He does every day that we will never see or be directly affected by!
Praise Him for plants growing this fall in New Zealand! Praise Him for the streams feeding lakes somewhere in Canada! Praise Him for the birds leaving northing Asia in their southern migration! Praise Him for the the people in closed-off countries that He is reaching through satellite TV and the internet, drawing them into faith in the Savior!
