Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:1-2
1Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
Questions for Reflection:
Paul uses several descriptors of what life united in Christ should look like. What descriptors does he use? Do these words reflect your experience as a follower of Jesus? Why or why not? How have you experienced encouragement, comfort, fellowship, tenderness, compassion? Did you notice as you listed those characteristics out that those are not isolated emotions, but rather something that we find in relationship with others? What does this remind you about the Christian life? How are you connected to other followers of Jesus on a regular basis? Are you encouraging, comforting, caring for them? Are you allowing them to serve you in that same way?
