Scripture Reading: Philippians 1:28b-30
This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,30since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
Questions for Reflection:
Paul does not seem to view suffering for the gospel as a negative, but rather as a blessing. Why is that? What does he say that the suffering demonstrates? On Sunday, we introduced you to leaders of the church in Myanmar. How does understanding the trials that they face on a day-in day-out basis help you to face your troubles? How can we gain encouragement from how they approach their struggles? Spend time today praying for Christians who are being persecuted for their faith around the world. Ask God to allow their faith to be an encouragement to you.
