Scripture: Philippians 2:14-16a
14Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16as you hold firmly to the word of life.
Questions for Reflection:
What does Paul instruct the readers to do? What does he claim would be the result of conducting our lives in that manner? How does Paul describe his generation? How would you compare that generation to ours? Why?
Paul says that when we conduct our lives in this manner that we will “shine among them like stars in the sky.” Why would you stand out so much just from choosing not to grumble or argue? What’s so counter-cultural about that? Today as you go through your day, choose to not argue or grumble. It’s going to have to be a proactive choice. Pray that God gives you the strength ot make that happen.
