Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-2
1You know, brothers and sisters, that our visit to you was not without results. 2We had previously suffered and been treated outrageously in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in the face of strong opposition.
Questions for Reflection:
When Paul visited the church at Thessalonica, the city broke into a revolt. The situation got so dangerous that, as we  read last week, he was forced to flee. However, in spite of those obstacles, how did Paul feel about his time in Thessalonica? What would Paul consider the most important part of his ministry? Under what power was he able to share the gospel?
Even in the midst of struggles, Paul was able to continue and to press on because he had a clear sense of mission. If you asked Paul his mission, he would have said, “Sharing the gospel first with Jews then with others.” At One Life, we state our mission as “helping people far from God experience Jesus.” What is your mission? Why does God have you here on earth? How can He use you to make a difference in your world? Spend time reflecting on what God is calling you to do. If you’re not sure, pray and ask that God would reveal your mission to you.
