Boldly Praying is Not Self-Righteous

Dan Sullivan   -

Vindicate me, O Lord , for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
Prove me, O Lord , and try me; test my heart and my mind.
For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness.
I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O Lord , proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds.
O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.

This is the prayer of a righteous Man, who can call on God to answer and reward His righteousness. This is the prayer of a Man with a clear conscience, One in whom there is no wickedness to be found.
You might not find the confidence to pray such a prayer. Every time you start to tell God to test you, you might brace yourself for lightning.
That would be true, except for this prayer. We don’t know for certain, but everything fits and points and holds true that this prayer could have been prayed by Christ just before dawn on Easter morning. The death that made all of us pure and innocent was about to be turned backward forever.
If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The new has come, the old has gone. All of this is from God. Pray for God to vindicate you and give you victory over His enemies with boldness and joy. He loves it when we believe in Him fully and take Him at His word.
