Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 7:8, 9
“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.”‭‭
Questions for Reflection:
Yesterday, Bret shared with us the three Cs for raising teenagers. The first C was be calm. Teenagers, and children in general, can really push their parents’ buttons. However we have a choice in how we respond. Solomon gives some general advice for how we handle moments when we are tempted to get angry. What advice does he give in the passage above? What does patience have to do with pride? Why does he instruct us to be slow to become angry? What could you practically do in your life that might help you not become angry or frustrated as quickly?
