Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lordis one.5Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Questions for Reflection:
Moses records a fairly straightfoward but power truth and command in verses 4 & 5. What are those statements? How can you “impress” those ideas on your children? What practical examples does Moses give the Israelites for how to do that? If you don’t have children, what should you be doing to make sure the next generation knows who God is and how much we should love Him? Are you currently doing that? If not, what are you impressing on the kids n your life? What steps do you need to take to make an intentional impact on the spiritual lives of the next generation?
