Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:1-3
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Questions for Reading:
What command does Paul give to children in verse 1? How is this a deeper understanding of the command that Moses had given (the quote from verse 2)? What is unique about the command given by Moses? If you’re a teenager, how can you follow these commands in your life today? If you’re an adult, how can you still obey and honor your parents even though you may not live with them any longer? How is this counter-cultural in our world today?
