Mission Statement - Who We Are

Beginnings.

Beginnings

Where a person comes from is as telling as where they are going. One Life was birthed in October 2002 from Adventure Christian Church in Roseville as an outpost to the families and community of Lincoln. At the beginning it was obvious that this community of faith was unique. The people who came were and still are looking for something uncommon. They are not looking for church as usual. Many had positive experiences with churches, yet many also were disillusioned and looking for ‘more’ from their spiritual journey. They desired not only to gather but also to transform their world. It is out of this mix of excitement and cautious hope that One Life was born.

In recent days, this community of Christ followers has begun to gather, shape and envision the hope-filled future that is emerging from their journey together. We have attempted to put on paper that which our hearts are yearning after. This is our vision. This is our longing.

“One Life Church longs
to become an uncommon people
for the sake of the world.”

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power
is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Beliefs.

Often people will ask us for a statement of beliefs. What we believe theologically about God, Jesus, the Bible, Sin and the End Times. These are very important when seeking a church home. Yet, words will always fall short of clearly communicating the essence of a church community. What we do and not just give ascent to truly reveals what we believe. Therefore, One Life holds 4 core convictions that we pursue and fuel our life in God.

  • One Life JarsSHAPED - We believe God has shaped us for a purpose. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

  • FIRED - We believe life will test us and God will use it to make us stronger. (Romans 5:3-5)

  • BROKEN - We believe we are broken people yet God will redeem our weakness to heal others. (1 Corinthians 1-3)

  • POURED OUT - We believe we are to pour out our lives in service to make a difference in our world. (Matthew 5:13-16)

Beyond.
